The Story
Dr. Rajiv Parti, an anesthesiologist, experienced a near-death event during emergency surgery on Christmas Day 2010. He had complications from prostate cancer surgery, including infection from an implanted device for incontinence. During the NDE, he floated above his body and watched the surgery, hearing conversations and a joke. He entered a hellish realm with fire, thunder, and dark entities, where he realized his selfish life. His father appeared, took him through a tunnel, and repeated advice to keep consciousness clean. He reviewed his present life and two past lives: a poppy farmer in Afghanistan and a cruel Indian prince. Guardian angels Raphael and Michael guided him to a bright light with meadows and a chant 'Om Namah Shivaya.' In the light, he received instructions to abandon materialism, become a true healer for cancer, depression, pain, and addiction, and saw words 'A Course in Miracles.' He woke in recovery. After the NDE, his painkiller addiction ended overnight, depression and pain improved, and he downsized his lifestyle by selling his large house and luxury cars. He quit anesthesiology, trained in Ayurveda, and now coaches others on forgiveness, love, and healing. He became happier, more compassionate, and deepened family relationships while studying 'A Course in Miracles.'
“God God I'm more trusting in God you going to the work book I was telling her”
The account features a single verified veridical perception of a specific joke told by the anesthesiologist during general anesthesia from an out-of-body vantage, confirmed immediately post-surgery. Strength is bolstered by the medical crisis severity and prompt verification, but limited by only one confirmed detail amid several unverified perceptions and non-remote access impossibility.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
