The Story
C. Thomas Perry, a university lecturer, experienced a near-death event in 2008 due to a heart attack. He had chest pains, saw a doctor for an ECG, and was told to rest. He ignored this and used a weed trimmer, pulling the cord repeatedly until severe pain hit. He heard God's voice say he would die but had tasks to do, so he packed a bag and called an ambulance. In the ambulance, after medication, he floated into darkness, felt pleasant then sank toward a void, and called for Jesus. Jesus, as a man in a white robe, pulled him up quickly to six or seven shining angels. They communicated thoughts, and he felt their wisdom. Jesus offered a choice to stay in paradise or return. Overwhelmed by love, Perry thought of his disabled daughter, young son, and other children, choosing to return for responsibilities. Jesus healed his grief, shared infinite awareness, showed future events selectively, and warned choices affect afterlife return. An angel checked his body, confirmed it was ready, and Jesus sent him back through light into his heavy, painful body. After the NDE, Perry's faith became certain knowledge of Jesus and angels' reality; he feels their presence and wrote the book 'Dying to Be Alive'.
“felt felt beautiful it really did it was a nice dreamy sensation and I thought to”
The NDE features a brief out-of-body perception of the experiencer's body in the ambulance with paramedics, but this is vague, expected, unverified, and lacks any corroboration or specific details. No other veridical perceptions of the physical world are reported, with the experience dominated by unverifiable spiritual encounters.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
