An NDE Continues: Robert Sehi, Transcendent Love
What Researchers Found
The Story
The person is a Vietnam veteran and seminary student in New York City. The NDE happened in October 2013 during a guided meditation led by Locke. In the meditation, the person dropped their awareness into their heart. They entered a new place that was slightly dark, with a no man's land and pine trees on the other side. They looked up and said, 'Oh, it's you,' recognizing someone unknown. Suddenly, an incredible love and light engulfed them. This love was greater than any they had ever felt and transformed every part of them. The person insists it was not a hallucination or dream, as they are a trained therapist with no substances involved. After the experience, the person dedicated their life after ordination to sharing this boundless love with others. They aim to tell people that unconditional love exists for everyone, no matter their life conditions.
“but um suddenly i was engulfed by this most incredible love and light this is what happened this is 2013 this many years later it was so great it was so beautiful”
This meditative experience lacks any veridical perception claims, featuring only vague internal visions of light, love, and an unidentified figure amid normal consciousness. No medical compromise, impossible access, specific details, verifications, or timely reporting elevates its evidential value for objective perceptions. It aligns with expected subjective spiritual imagery rather than testable NDE elements.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
