The Story
Andy Petro was a high school student in 1955. He nearly drowned during a class picnic in a cold Michigan lake. He swam to a raft but got cramps, sank, and got stuck in weeds at the bottom. He heard a voice tell him to rest and let go. He left his body and entered a warm tunnel filled with joy and unconditional love. He saw his body below but felt at home. He moved toward a bright light that did not hurt his eyes. He entered a large sphere and reviewed all his lives on screens, reliving events with full knowledge of others' feelings. He saw lives as male, female, and on other planets. The light communicated with him, showed humor, and explained life as a play where all are one. He approached the light, heard 'we love you' from many lights, and merged with it, knowing everything. The light sent him back despite his protests, and he reentered his body as rescuers revived him on shore. After the NDE, Andy hid the experience for 30 years, feeling crazy. Reading 'Life After Life' validated it as an NDE. He now shares his story to help others, chooses joy and love over hate, and lives knowing he is part of the light, waiting to return home.
“a spot of light and the light is not very big but it is so bright it should”
This NDE features a classic out-of-body experience with a view of the experiencer's own body at the lake bottom, but lacks any specific, verifiable details or confirmation attempts. No other perceptions of distant or hidden events are reported, and the account was not shared publicly until decades later without prior verification.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
