Virginia's NDE: Called Back by the Horses

The Story
A 47-year-old woman experienced a near-death event on September 4, 2013, due to a fentanyl overdose that stopped her breathing while she lay in bed. She felt hands on her shoulders and forearms on her ankles. She entered a vast white space with a large green tree. A man resembling Jesus approached, took her hand, and said she had suffered enough and her life was over. She pulled away, thinking of her husband who cared for her. She sensed it was her choice to stay or go. She heard commotion and saw donkeys and horses from a sanctuary where she volunteered, urging her to return. She returned to her body, saw a Joan of Arc vision, gasped for air, and sat up. After the NDE, she rejected the medication, pursued alternative healing and a spiritual quest, developed psychic abilities, focused on self-healing through forgiveness and compassion, and became mentally and emotionally stronger while helping others and animals.
This NDE features a severe medical crisis from opioid overdose with self-reported respiratory and cardiac arrest, providing strong evidence of compromised brain function. However, it lacks any veridical perceptions of the physical world, containing only subjective spiritual imagery like a Jesus-like figure and familiar animals from a sanctuary, with no impossible access, specific verifiable details, verification attempts, or confirmed elements.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
