The Story
Kaye Sweeney, a transgender woman born male, had her near-death experience during sepsis and adult respiratory distress syndrome after surgery for an infection. She stopped breathing and drowned in her own blood while hospitalized. During the NDE, Kaye left her body and watched medical staff intubate her. She rose above the hospital and saw Earth receding. She heard cheering from departed souls in a vast conical arena, but wailing over a bombing in Syria that killed innocents. She moved through a tunnel into a light and met a glowing woman on a balcony, whom she perceived as God. The woman said not to fear, affirmed Kaye's identity, stated she was not damned, and revealed that the currency of eternity is love. She instructed Kaye to return and teach this. After the NDE, Kaye fully transitioned, changed her name legally, started as a hospital chaplain as herself, left her old church, and embraced a life without fear. She now shares messages of unconditional love and acceptance, especially for LGBTQ+ people, and works with death and dying issues.
