The Story
Randall Rathbun had a near-death experience after a car accident on August 30, 2002. He lost control of his vehicle and hit a freeway station. During the experience, he left his body while still driving. Chains bound him, and a voice took him to hell, calling him a liar. Scriptures appeared and spoke to him about sin and hypocrisy. Hell was horrific with screams and a lake of fire. He escaped to space above Earth. God spoke with authority, offering a choice to stay or return, and said, 'I trust you.' God showed seven areas of heaven: an apricot orchard, a university for math studies, a wood shop, a social center, a children's playground, and the throne with a rainbow and seraphim singing. A life review revealed gray and black areas in his life's tapestry. He chose to return to share about God and heaven. After the NDE, Randall focused on eternal matters, lost fear of death, gained compassion for others, and worked to please God by sharing his story.
This NDE features no veridical perception claims whatsoever; the experience is purely visionary and supernatural (hell, heaven tours, divine conversations, life review) with no observations of physical events, medical procedures, or details later verified. Medical severity provides minimal evidential base, but absence of impossible-access perceptions or verifications limits strength entirely.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
