Deb's NDE (Near Death Experience), SDE (Shared Death Experience), and Some Woo Woo
What Researchers Found
The Story
Deb Carr had a near-death experience 30 years ago during major surgery under general anesthetic. While unconscious, she found herself in the universe, a black space with stars, in the presence of God or the Divine Creator, an energy source separate from her. She felt absolute love, peace, and bliss with no fear. She asked big questions about why we are here, who we are, and the purpose of life. She received answers and knew them, but could not remember them because that would cheat her life. She floated backwards into her body and heard a distinct 'ack' noise upon return. After the NDE, Deb thinks about it every day. It strengthened her faith in an afterlife and that humans are greater than their bodies. It gives her hope during hard times and makes her more tolerant and kind to others.
“would know that I knew but I would never remember any of them because if I did I”
The account describes a cardiac arrest with unconsciousness but provides no specific, verifiable details of physical events observed from an impossible vantage point. Perceptions are vague and expected (e.g., people screaming, defibrillation), with no verification attempts or confirmed matches reported.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
