The Story
Dr. Yvonne Kerson was a medical resident in 1979 when a Medevac plane she was on crashed into a semi-frozen lake in Northern Ontario due to bad weather and frozen engines. The plane sank, and the patient died, but she, the pilot, and a nurse escaped. While swimming to shore in freezing water, she felt peace and heard the Bible verse, 'Be still and know that I am God.' Her consciousness left her body with a whoosh. It split, with most of it entering a realm of profound light and love. She felt certain her spirit would live on after death, lost her fear of death, and knew a Higher Power was real. Her consciousness returned to her body after rescue. After the NDE, she had a psychic awakening, including clairvoyant experiences. This changed her worldview. She specialized in counseling patients with spiritually transformative experiences for nearly 40 years, founded support networks, and wrote a book on the topic.
