The Story
Rod Kelly, a man with lifelong heart issues, experienced his NDE on October 17, 1998, due to a pulmonary embolism from blood clots following multiple surgeries for a defective pacemaker lead and MRSA infection. During the 27 minutes he was clinically dead, Kelly left his body and hovered over nurses rushing his gurney down the hall. He watched them bag his lungs and doctors hit him with treatments. He yelled at them to stop but they could not hear him. After 27 minutes, a nurse twisted his nipple, pulling him back into his body against his will. After the NDE, Kelly realized his true identity beyond his physical self and connected with his higher self and Celtic ancestors. He underwent a seven-year spiritual initiation, including a stroke, moved to Canada, and opened a wellness center. He now teaches self-healing techniques using energy, intuition, and perspective shifts, and stopped all medications.
“whole life up until that's 49 my mother spirituality and I said oh my that is”
The account describes a severe medical crisis with 27 minutes of clinical unconsciousness during a pulmonary embolism, featuring specific out-of-body perceptions from an elevated vantage point impossible via normal senses. However, evidential strength is limited by the complete absence of any reported verification attempts, confirmed details, or documentation of timely pre-verification reporting.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
