The Story
Peter, a 21-year-old college student from New England, died of hypothermia during an ice climbing accident on Lower Weeping Walls in the Canadian Rocky Mountains in 1980. He collapsed from cold and exhaustion after a delayed descent. During the NDE, Peter left his body and entered darkness. A pinprick of light rushed toward him and carried him inside as a being of light. He expanded into infinite nothingness and encountered a waterfall of multicolored light. He learned his soul's eternal origin and relived the pain he caused others from their perspectives. He felt shame but received divine love, forgiveness, and knowledge of the universe's suffering. He saw all humanity's equality in brokenness and belovedness. Peter viewed Earth and chose to return for his family's sake, selecting a path with some autonomy. After the NDE, Peter gained a new identity. He pursued mysticism, earned degrees in literature and divinity, wrote inspirational stories for TV, and now teaches meditation and counsels globally. He integrated the experience through meditation and a second NDE in 2015.
