The Story
Dr. Lawrence Brock had his near-death experience in 1976 at age 22. He crashed his car into a tree after falling asleep while driving home from a party in New York. The impact smashed the car and cracked open his head. During the experience, Brock left his body and entered a white light. He saw his injured body leaning against the tree with a police officer nearby. A silhouette of a person stood behind him, filling him with warmth, love, and a sense of everything being okay. The being told him, 'You have to go back. Your father wants you to stay,' referring to God. He returned to his body and woke up in the hospital two to three days later. After the NDE, Brock became more intuitive and experienced synchronicities. His hands warmed when touching people. He studied with a Sufi sheik, identified the being as Jesus, and pursued spiritual science. He earned a doctorate, became a healer, and now sees angels and spirits to help clients. His life focused on love, service, and connecting to God.
“love and light to come into there but so we want to be doing good things being of”
The account describes a veridical OBE perception of the accident scene during a severe car crash with head trauma and unconsciousness, including specific details like body position and a police officer, partially verified by revisiting the site. However, the perceptions are of the experiencer's own body at the immediate scene, making sensory access plausible if semi-conscious, with no highly unique or remote details, limited verifications, and no evidence of pre-verification reporting.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
