The Story
Beto Monfort experienced a near-death experience (NDE) during surgery for a type 1 aortic dissection in 2008. He felt intense chest pain and went to the hospital, where he was treated. During surgery, he became conscious and felt he left his body. He saw a medical team operating on him while he was in a different place, where he felt peace and heard familiar voices. He was warned that if he looked back, he would not return. After a struggle with dark shadows trying to keep him, he surrendered to the will of God and decided to return. After the NDE, he felt a new sense of awareness and connection to life, along with a fear of death that diminished significantly.
“because my father had had it... I had this experience with my father ... and I figured maybe it was a congenital thing.”
