Andy Parks

Andrew Parks was a successful corporate executive and atheist who pursued material success. In April 1995, heavy partying led him to fear death, so he drove to a hospital. After realizing he would not die, he returned home, saw his sleeping family, and prayed for God to enter his life if God existed. He opened the Bible randomly and read about the body as a temple for the Holy Spirit. The next day, his son gave him the book 'Saved by the Light' about an NDE. He read it cover to cover. His wife showed him a newspaper article about NDEr Diane Morrissey speaking locally. Parks attended the talk, where Morrissey confirmed her experience and told him there is more to life than the physical body. He began researching NDEs extensively, reading books and stories, attending IONS meetings, and practicing meditation. In 2006, a prostate cancer diagnosis deepened his reflection. After his mother's death in 2017, he studied scientific aspects of NDEs. Listening to multiple NDE accounts erased his skepticism. After studying NDEs, Parks gained belief in God and an afterlife. He shifted from ego-driven success to compassion and helping others. He retired from corporate work and now teaches business courses emphasizing empathy, leadership, social responsibility, and stress management. He feels empowered, no longer a victim, and sees death as positive.
