What does it feel like in the first moments after leaving the body?

“And then I felt like I had no body, and it was just this super lightness, like I was just shooting up and out of my body into another place that I had never been. The next thing that I noticed was I had a sense of my surroundings, even though I couldn't see, and I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but I could sense that I was kind of in a safe, um, dark, maybe pillowy, soft, feathery container that felt extremely secure.”47:59

“And so as soon as I closed my eyes, that's when everything changed. Soon as I relaxed, time for me totally slowed down. And the first thing that I remember happening was not hearing anything, not having any senses, not seeing. And this huge lightness that I've never, never... I've never yet, and haven't since, experienced. And when I say a lightness, it's not just like, okay, we're used to kind of carrying around this heavy body and I slipped out of it, but also this lack of mind chatter, lack of tension, lack of anxiety, lack of looking around, these things that we do all day, every day. It was suddenly not available to me, and I was... I was in this really light space.”3:34

“The immediate joyous feeling of being out of the body and how light everything felt, I was still in a form of a body but it wasn't the biological dense body that I was looking down was laying on that bed.”0:36

“I then noticed that I didn't have the heaviness of a body. And we're all used to having these heavy, heavy bodies that we carry around, but they don't feel heavy because we're used to them. But suddenly there was complete lightness. I was still aware, the same way that I'm aware in the body, but I was actually more aware, almost like just waking up very suddenly in the morning.”2:53

“And when I was there on the other side, I recognized I didn't have any pain. I felt weightless. I felt like I was alive but not in a body. And I know that must sound trite; it was true. I felt this consciousness, this vibrant feeling of freedom coming out of that heavy, miserable, painful body, and I knew everything was going to be okay. I felt very, very serene, felt so peaceful.”5:14

“And I felt the weight of leaving my body. My body felt so weighted, so I felt so light once I left the body.”10:56

“Everything disappeared. It was like I had no body. And no, there was a separation. There was a sense of self in it, but I felt like I was in a warm bath of love, pure, unconditional love. And it was warm, it was welcoming. All my worries, all my fears, all my stress were gone. It was pure bliss.”42:04

“When I left my body, it didn't hurt. And when I took that last breath, it was like now I can really breathe, like really breathe. And it was the most incredible, exhilarating feeling. It was like, "Oh, this is me. This is really me." And it was like I was expanded. I remember just like watching everything unfolding.”0:02

“And when I left my body, I automatically felt freedom. The first minute I left, I realized it was me down there, but as I was hovering for a while, I recognized it was a person, very sick, and curled up in the bed in pain.”4:22

“And then I was out of my body, and then I was up at the ceiling, looking down at my physical body and my husband laying in bed. But I felt free. I felt absolutely free. I felt like I had taken the biggest, freshest breath that I had ever taken. And I was floating in a velvety darkness of boundless love and tranquility that I'd never experienced.”5:52

“I started to feel this unbelievable lightness that I had never, ever experienced before. I was still fully aware, maybe even more aware than ever, but without the body.”4:29

“less than what I felt: an indescribable sensation of well-being, of total fulfillment, as if all the stress or fear I had ever known no longer existed. Around me, there were many people. People standing, talking in low voices. They seemed as surprised as I was. Some were whispering, "What's going on? Where are we? Why are we here?" Then I understood: I was surrounded by other souls, other people who, like me, had just left their earthly lives. And in this space between two worlds, I felt an incredible lucidity. I was at the height of my consciousness. Nothing I was experiencing”0:37

“And the very first thing that I remember was I was out of my body, and it was so clear because I was aware of myself, that same sense of myself that I've always been aware of, and you probably know it too, that part of you which is unchanging, you know, whether you're five or 15, it's always the same, isn't it? So I was aware of that, and I knew I wasn't in my body. And I remember thinking, oh, well, I am not my body, then I must exist outside of it. And then I was just floating into the most amazing light. The peace, the bliss was just incredible, and I had had no thought actually for this material physical world.”3:50

“And in the blink of an eye, I was out of my body. And I felt the most amazing, unbelievable love and peace that there's just, we don't have a word for. We don't have any way to describe it. It's like being wrapped in the warmest, softest blanket. And just, there were no fears, no cares, no worries. I wasn't worried about, 'What's my, what's my family going to do if I, you know, if I'm dead?' And, you know, 'What's going on?' And nothing. It was just beautiful and peace and love.”3:09

“lightness of not having that, but then being fully still me and having my awareness and my perception and all that, that was incredible. So once I kind of like had adjusted to, okay, I'm out of my body. It's not heavy. I don't have my senses about me. I suddenly realized there's a huge familiarity. And what started to kind of creep in to my awareness was this feels familiar. This feels like home. This feels like perfect peace. A peace that even the greatest moments of peace on earth, I could not”23:43

“body, I can remember floating down and it just felt good. It felt like easy. But when I came into my body, I can remember kind of going in like if you were going to blow up a mattress, you can kind of see the air going in. I felt like my body was doing that as my soul was entering. And I can remember going taking a big deep breath as if you were held underwater. And when I took that breath like that, I asked myself, "Are you the same person? Did something just happen?" And you're just kind of like,”12:21
