Sarah's Near-Death Experience: Love, Light, and the Beach Beyond

A mother's brush with death during childbirth revealed a world where love is God and God is everywhere

Thomas Wood·August 27, 2026·16 min read

Sarah was dying, and she didn't know it. In the recovery room after her C-section, her body temperature plummeted, her heart rate dropped, and nurses scattered in controlled panic. But Sarah wasn't in the hospital anymore. She was standing on a beach, staring at an ocean so beautiful it made Disney World look like a parking lot. A mother played with her baby in the shallow water. Three men floated in a circle, laughing like they'd been friends for lifetimes. And Sarah was walking toward the water, toward something she couldn't name but desperately wanted to reach, when her mother screamed her name and pulled her back to a world she'd almost left behind.

Sarah's Near-Death Experience: Love, Light, and the Beach Beyond

The Day Everything Changed

July 6, 2017. Sarah will never forget the date. It was the day her son was born, and the day she died.

She'd been nervous going into the surgery that morning. Something felt off. She describes the feeling: "I was praying because I was very nervous and and the feelings still didn't subside so two days later I was still having like these bad feelings." But the surgery proceeded anyway. Unlike her previous C-section, where they'd wheeled her into the operating room, this time they asked her to walk. She remembers the white hallway, the small hospital gown, just her and her nurse.

The anesthesiologist gave her a spinal tap, not an epidural. The difference mattered. Sarah explains: "it numbed everything the only thing I could do is move my neck I couldn't move my arms so I was like completely paralyzed all I could do is is move my neck." She was awake, aware, but frozen. She could feel the motions of the surgery, the scissors cutting through her skin. When she asked her doctor if this was normal, the doctor said as long as there was no pain, she was fine.

Sarah passed in and out of consciousness during the procedure, hearing nurses chat about their day, hearing the radio in the background. She was there but not there, present but powerless.

Then they moved her to recovery. And that's when everything started to fall apart.

A woman lying in a hospital recovery room bed, surrounded by six to ten nurses moving frantically, with a broken bear hugger blanket blowing cold air, her vitals dropping on the monitor beside her.

The Body Shuts Down

Sarah remembers feeling intensely hot in the recovery room. "I'm feeling super hot like I need some water I need some ice and I need it now," she told the nurse. The nurse refused. You can't have anything right after surgery. Sarah insisted. "I just want water I just want cold cold ice please I need some ice."

Her mother was the only person with her. Sarah's mom opened the hospital door and started yelling into the hallway. Sarah heard her say something about her heart rate dropping. She looked over at the monitor and saw her vitals going down.

Then she passed out.

When she came to, the head anesthesiologist was there, a tall white man washing his hands with the light behind him. He asked how she was feeling, and Sarah told him: "I I need to get naked it went past the need for water past the need for ice at this I wanted to just get naked and I told him I said can I please just take off my clothes I'm so hot and he looked at me and he said no you're actually really cold."

She couldn't process what he was saying. Her body was screaming that it was burning up, but the doctor was saying the opposite. He told her she had morphine-induced hypothermic shock. The morphine had caused her blood vessels to dilate, and she was losing body heat at a catastrophic rate. Her core temperature was dropping. Her automatic functions, breathing and heartbeat, were failing.

She heard him yell for warm IVs. Then she fell asleep again.

Her mother later told her that nurses brought in warm IV fluids, trying to heat her body from the inside out. Six to ten nurses rushed into the room. Sarah describes the scene: "everybody was scatter ing moving very fast yet it felt like they were doing nothing or they didn't know what to do or they were paralyzed themselves by fear and I literally um was in God's hands at this time."

They put a bear hugger on her, a blanket that blows hot air to warm patients. But the bear hugger was broken. It was blowing cold air on her dying body.

That's when Sarah left.

The Beach at the Edge of Everything

Sarah describes what happened next: "I at that moment was gone I left my body the room was I wasn't even in the room anymore the room everything was silent nobody was there the nurses weren't there the doctors weren't there my mom wasn't there there was no hospital there was no bed there was no vitals there was no none of that what was in front of me was a beautiful ocean I was on the beach."

She was surrounded by love and peace. Not the kind of peace you feel on vacation or after meditation. Something exponentially more intense. She tries to describe it: "the way I like to describe is it's like Disney World like imagine being a little kid going to Disney World it's that times a 100 it's like peace and love on steroids."

She stared at the ocean. Everything was beautiful. And without thinking, without deciding, she started walking toward the water. She'd already made up her mind. She was getting in.

Then her mother screamed her name.

Sarah remembers: "I heard her yell it very sharply like Sarah like that and when I heard her yell my name it made me stop in my tracks but I was a little bit annoyed I was annoyed that she was interrupting my my walk to the water I was annoyed that I felt like I felt like don't disrupt my piece I'm doing something right now."

She stopped. And when she stopped, she saw them.

The Mother and the Baby

On her left, in the water about thigh-deep, hip-deep, was a woman. A beautiful blonde woman, maybe late thirties or forty years old, with a baby. Sarah describes them: "her son was about nine months old because he was a bigger baby but he was still baldheaded little baby and um they were playing in the water she she had like this yellow raft for him and and he was in it and she was moving the raft around just enjoying the time with her son."

The woman and the baby didn't look at Sarah. They didn't speak to her. But there was a connection. Sarah explains: "the connection was pure love and pure joy and it was like I was experiencing what they were feeling the love that they had for one another it was so beautiful that I just wanted to step closer to the water."

She wasn't just watching them. She was feeling what they felt. The mother's love for her child. The child's joy. It poured into Sarah like a river.

She looked to the right.

The Three Friends

Three men were chest-deep in the water, treading in place, talking to each other in a circle. Sarah describes them: "they were the best of friends I don't know if they were Brothers cousins but they were best friends I mean it felt like lifetimes of friendship it felt like lifetime of memories and fun and I was I just I loved it I love them talking to each other I love them being with each other."

Again, she didn't know them. They didn't acknowledge her. But she could feel the depth of their bond. Lifetimes of friendship, memories, love. It was overwhelming and beautiful and she wanted to be in the water with them.

She started walking again. Her foot was about to touch the water.

Then her mother screamed.

The Second Scream

Sarah remembers: "I heard my mother scream my name like at this time it was like a terrifying scream almost like I was a little kid about to cross like busy traffic and she yelled and when she yelled that second time it was such a terrifying scream for my name that I immediately looked and when I looked I was in my hospital bed."

She was back. Her mother was right next to her, hands on her, praying over her.

Sarah realized: "oh I'm back and I knew a lot of it had to do with the fact that my mom was praying over me."

Later, Sarah thanked her mother for laying in the bed with her during the prayer. But her mother said she never got in the bed. Sarah describes what she saw: "when I remember her praying over me it was literally like she she came she came and and sat with me but now that I know it wasn't her it it must have came out of her prayer it must have been an angel that came out of her prayer and laid with me."

She felt: "an angel of comfort an angel of love it felt like an angel of Peace an angel that that was like I'm going to be here now and and you're okay and you're going to recover."

Sarah survived. She came back. But she came back different.

The Transformation

Sarah says plainly: "a lot has changed I'm a completely different person I'm a a way better person I I just want to be able to be of service to other people now I want to be able to you know help you be an angel of comfort to you guys if you need it and that's why I share this story as well."

After coming home, she dove deep into spirituality. She wanted to understand what she'd experienced on the other side, who God is, what that beach meant. As she healed physically, she grew spiritually. She now does energy healing, spiritual guidance, tarot readings, inner child healing, past loved one readings. She helps people transmute their pain into purpose.

She reflects: "I know that all the pain that I experience has a purpose and so the message is is that no matter what pain or situations you go to go through understand that God has a purpose for all that."

She believes the shadowy figure that came from her mother's prayer was the Holy Spirit or Archangel Raphael, the angel of healing. She'd always been intuitive, always had premonitions and dreams, but before her NDE she didn't listen to that inner voice as much. She explains: "I always kind of just did what I wanted to do you know and what going through this experience that helped me gain more trust and Source but it also helped me become my greatest version as well and it helped me be able to really really tap back into all that intuition that I have."

Sarah has shared her story in multiple interviews, including accounts where she describes her house in heaven and what she learned about who we truly are. In another interview, she recounts a frightening encounter with demons during her experience. Each telling adds layers to her understanding of what happened that day.

What God Is

When asked to define God, Sarah's answer is immediate and emotional. She says: "we experience God all the time because the love that's inside of us is that's God so when I saw the mother and the baby that was God when I saw all the friendship and the love that was God me being able to be in such a beautiful beach a beautiful place that that was the beauty of it it was all God."

She continues: "the peace that I felt in my heart the love that I felt the safety I felt it was all it was all source."

She tries to quantify it. Think of the happiest memory you have, she says, "and then multiply it as to Infinity to be able to experience who truly God is and and I still think that that was just a glimpse that was just a small a small glimpse of who God truly is."

A glimpse. That overwhelming, reality-shattering experience of love and peace was just a glimpse.

Sarah now teaches what the Holy Spirit reveals to her. She didn't know she could read tarot or do energy healing before her NDE. The knowledge came through her. She teaches self-love, self-mastery, surrender, chakra balancing, inner child healing. She wants people to see how these teachings can enhance their lives.

The Message for Humanity

Sarah believes that "Humanity has forgotten their own Humanity." She sees people walking around like zombies, programmed by society, living in what she calls the Matrix. They become greedy, hard-hearted, narcissistic, caring only about themselves.

But there's another way. She describes it: "that is the just the the love and the Au authenticity of a person and it's the the real Beauty and I think Humanity has forgotten just being empathic being loving just to be loving being caring to be caring because you're a human understanding that people make mistakes no one's perfect."

She sees a shift coming, a split. Sarah explains: "what I see for the collective is there's a shift there's a split there's going to be the people that are human that are Angelic that are Godly and then there's going to be people that can't get out their own way can't get their own foot out their own ass to be honest."

There will be a separation between those who serve love and those who serve themselves. But we can change that trajectory one person at a time, letting it ripple out.

She sees the Earth changing too. A new Earth is being created, a place of paradise filled with people seeking love, truth, compassion, generosity. And there will be another Earth where people keep polluting, not caring about animals or the environment. We get to decide where we reside.

She warns: "there's going to be Wars and there's going to be rumors of wars there's going to be a lot of fear there's going to be an outbreak of lot of different things viruses." The war on humanity has already begun, she says. It starts in families, then communities, then goes global.

But fear, she insists, "is of a demonic force that is not of God and fear is not welcome to reside in the new Earth."

Why Evil Exists

Sarah's answer is profound: "I believe that God allows evil because God loves us truly and when you truly love someone you don't control them control is demonic so if God wants to allow Free Will so that people could truly choose with a pure heart to love they could choose God in love and Humanity freely without being forced and that's why there is this light and dark as well."

There's a balance between light and dark. We'd never know what light is without the dark to contrast it. God allows people, out of true love, to decide what kind of soul they are, what kind of spirit.

Sarah believes God lives within each of us, and we all carry divine strength. God will help us out of our suffering, but it often takes us taking the first step, having the faith to want healing. Many people stay in suffering because they don't move, don't make the move out of it.

How to Ascend

To ascend to the new Earth, Sarah says, "you have to ascend with the Earth that's ascending so yes it requires change." We have multiple levels of who we are. Lower days where we act out of our lower self. But there's also our higher self, our inner spirit.

The bridge to the new Earth, she explains, "that is the love that is in your heart some call it Christ Consciousness having unconditional love in your heart for yourself and for Humanity and this is how you're going to be able to ascend."

It doesn't look pretty. Inner child healing means looking at your wounds, your shadow aspects, your lower self, and loving yourself while allowing God to penetrate and heal those areas.

Her advice: "prepare your Hearts if you're going to prepare anything don't prepare a zombie bunker don't prepare food in your cupboards prepare your hearts clean your hearts out allow all that stuff that has tried to bring you down or that has hurt you allow all that stuff to go let it go because it is just something that you have experienced here you're a soul and you just experience those things those things are not you."

Let go of what holds you down. Allow God's love to clean your heart and prepare it for the new Earth.

Forgiveness and Shadow Work

Forgiveness, Sarah emphasizes, is not for the other person. "Their forgiveness is a is a an Act of you releasing and letting go when you forgive people that hurt you it doesn't get them off of um the crime they still gonna have to do their time whether it's in the physical or in what I like to call spiritual Court they will have to have you know the repercussions of that but you forgiving them it releas es you it releases the poison and the control that they have had over you it's you saying no more I now choose to move on."

And we need to stop hiding our shadow. Sarah insists: "people always want to hide things under the rug and hide their Shadow but all that does is continue to perpetuate the same thing but when we shine love and light on our shadow then we're able to really fully be whole to really fully be seen to be heard word and then we're allowed to uh release all that and then more light comes in."

This is the work. This is the path.

What This Experience Reveals

Sarah's account sits in the heart of a pattern we see again and again in near-death experiences. The overwhelming sense of love and peace. The feeling that this reality, this baseline state of existence, is more real than physical life. The knowledge that love isn't just an emotion but the fundamental substance of reality itself.

What strikes me most about Sarah's experience is the specificity of what she saw. Not abstract light or formless bliss, but a mother playing with her baby. Three friends talking in the water. Concrete, relational, human moments of connection and joy. This isn't the distant, impersonal God of philosophy textbooks. This is God as relationship, God as the love between a mother and child, God as the bond between lifelong friends.

The detail about the angel that came from her mother's prayer is particularly significant. It suggests that prayer, intention, and love can manifest tangible help on the other side, that the boundary between this world and the next is more permeable than we think. Sarah's mother wasn't just praying into a void. Her prayer created or summoned a presence that comforted her dying daughter.

Sarah's transformation afterward follows a pattern common to many NDErs. The sudden awakening of intuitive and healing abilities. The shift from self-focus to service. The urgency to share what she learned. She came back with a mission, not just a story.

Her message about the coming shift, the separation between those who choose love and those who choose fear and control, echoes what many experiencers report. There's a sense that humanity is at a crossroads, that we're being given a choice, and that the choice matters more than we realize.

But here's what gives me hope: Sarah insists we can change the trajectory one person at a time. That inner work, forgiveness, shadow integration, and heart preparation aren't just personal development buzzwords. They're the actual mechanism by which we participate in creating the new Earth she describes. We don't have to wait for some external savior or catastrophic event. We can start now, today, by cleaning out our hearts and choosing love over fear.

Sarah's experience confirms what thousands of other near-death experiencers have reported: consciousness survives death, love is the fundamental reality, and physical life is the classroom where we learn to embody that love. She didn't just glimpse the afterlife. She came back with instructions for how to live now, how to prepare, how to choose which Earth we want to inhabit.

And that beach she stood on, that ocean she almost entered? It's waiting for all of us. Not as an escape from life, but as a reminder of what life is ultimately about. Love, connection, joy, and the courage to keep walking toward the water even when we're called back to finish what we started here.
