Julie Paul's Near-Death Experience: Three Days in the Angelic Realms
After a suicide attempt at 21, she spent three days being healed by angels who told her she had chosen a lifetime of trauma to accomplish what would normally take three incarnations
Julie Paul was 21 years old when she made the decision to go home. Not home to her apartment, but home to the place she had visited once before, at age eight, when a man in a tree told her his name was Jesus. She had spent 15 years moving through layers of abuse, physical and sexual and emotional, and the PTSD had become unbearable. The depression, the panic attacks, the flashbacks. She knew what waited on the other side. She had felt that peace before. So she took everything in the house, every pill she'd been given, paracetamol and Valium and sleeping pills, and went to bed expecting never to wake up. What happened instead changed everything she understood about why we're here and what we agreed to before we came.

The Childhood That Broke Open the Veil
Before Julie Paul became a spiritual empowerment coach and healer, before she spent three days in the Angelic Realms arguing with beings of light about whether she could stay, she was an eight-year-old girl sitting in a tree.
She had been a reasonably normal child until about age five or six, highly intuitive like all children are, aware of energy and imaginary friends. But when her parents split up around age eight, everything shifted. Her mother fell apart, became absent in her grief and depression. Julie became what she describes as an extremely lonely child, neglected child, frightened child.
A man befriended her. Groomed her for nearly a year. What followed was a traumatic incident in woodland, under a tree, where the weight of him on her small body made it impossible to breathe. She lost consciousness. She was being hugely traumatized and abused.
And then she left her body.
One minute she was in there feeling "I can't breathe" and absolute terror, and the next thing she had just lifted up out of her body. The next thing she knew, she was sitting high up in a tree on a branch, really high up in the sky. The incident was happening below her, in the woodland, under a tree. She was just up.

The Man in the Tree
Sitting on that branch, Julie felt something she had never felt in her young life: complete peace and complete calm. There was no pain. No sense of panic. All of those feelings that had been consuming her were completely gone.
There was a man sitting next to her on the tree. He was so kind and gentle that she completely trusted him. He was very white and shimmery, but she could see him clearly. She didn't know who he was.
He said to her, "look at me, don't worry about what's going on down there, you just look at me". He talked to her. He showed her the birds. "Look at that lovely bird up there, let's look at that." He completely distracted all of her attention. She was totally in the energy with him, in the kindness, the love, the gentleness. Everything just felt so absolutely beautiful.
She doesn't know how long she was there, but it was magical. She didn't want to go. It was just lovely.
After a while, he told her it would be time to go back down now, and when she did, it wouldn't feel very nice, but she was going to be okay. He said, "I am your friend and I am here for you and you can speak to me and reach out to me anytime you want to".
Julie asked him his name.
The next thing she knew, she was back in her body. It wasn't nice. But she went home from that experience and never saw that man again, the abuser. From that point forward, she started spending a lot of time going to her local church where she could find her friend Jesus and have a chat with him. After a while, he started appearing on the bottom of her bed and they would talk at night. He talked to her about angels and lights and energy and God. They continued that relationship for the next 10 years.
The Gifts That Came Through the Veil
What Julie didn't understand at eight years old was that leaving her body had opened something. She had broken free from her body in terms of her spirit rising, her soul rising up out of her body, and that opened her up through the veil to be able to access the spiritual realms.
When she was about 13, she was having menstrual cramps. Jesus was sitting on the bottom of her bed and told her to put her hands on her stomach and just activate her own healing energy, her own God force. She did. Her pain went away. It was like a magic switch.
She started helping others. Her friends at school who had period pains would see her putting her hands on her stomach and ask what she was doing. "I'm just taking away my pain," she'd say. They'd say "do me, do me". She would put her hands on her friends' stomachs and their period pains would go away. Headaches, migraines. She became a little bit of the party piece for her friends to heal them.
They'd ask how she could do this. "I don't know, I just can," she'd say.
But there was a cost to this opening. As happens with abused children, she went into more abuse. It's part of the Law of Attraction until you heal it. There were other incidents. A difficult and abusive relationship from age 17 to 21. She reached out to Spirit constantly during that time. At 17, after another trauma, she saw clearly for the first time while in her body a beautiful indigenous man who told her his name was Running River and he was her guide. He started talking to her about Shamanism and grounding and Mother Earth and how she could connect with the Earth and heal her traumas.
But by 21, after something like 15 years of abuse, physically, mentally, sexually, emotionally, she was absolutely a wreck. The only part of her life that made sense was her spiritual connections. It was the only time she felt safe.
The Decision to Go Home
The PTSD was overwhelming. The depression, the anxiety, the panic attacks, the low self-worth, the self-disgust. All of those feelings just became completely overwhelming to the point where she just made the decision: I can't do this, this is too hard.
She couldn't live with the trauma she woke up with every day, the constant fear, the flashbacks. "I can't do it," she thought. "So I made the decision I'm going home. I know where home is and I know it's love and I don't want to be here anymore".
She took a massive overdose. A combination of a load of paracetamol, a load of Valium tranquilizers, and sleeping pills. Everything she had in the house that she had been given. She was ready. She made her peace with life and said thanks for having me, I don't want to stay, I'm going home, bye-bye.
This wasn't a cry for help. This was an absolute determination that she was done with this life now.
She took the whole lot and went to bed, perfectly expecting that was it, done, dusted, off we go. She remembers falling asleep in absolute happiness that she wouldn't have to wake up ever again and face that same pain.

Three Days in the Angelic Realms
What happened next was not what she expected.
She suddenly saw her guides and her angels around her, and then they lifted her up and took her up to the higher realms. She remembers saying "I'm going home".
They said, "No you're not. It's not your time".
She remembers being in a place which she now knows to be the Angelic Realms. There was a huge amount of spiritual energy, people, beings, angels around her, healing her. They were determined that she was not going to die and they were going to heal her.
She doesn't know how long she was there. But she remembers arguing with them and saying "no, I don't want to, I don't want to go back, I'm not going back there".
They said, "Yes you are. You've got a lot of work to be done. You agreed to this. You planned this".
This is where the conversation gets remarkable. The beings told her something that would reshape her entire understanding of why she was here.
"We did tell you at the time that it would be a very hard beginning in your life," they said. She was confused. What did they mean?
They had warned her. "We did warn you it would be too hard and too overwhelming. So here you are at 21 trying to check out. It's not your time".
They told her they had to heal her enough to go back. But they could tell her something important: "You will in the second half of your life find enormous peace and be able to help enormous amounts of people. This pain will not go on forever. Please let us help you and work with us".
Julie agreed.
They told her something else. She was 21 at the time. "It's not your time to go. You'll be going when you're 67". When you're 21, 67 feels very, very old and a long, long way away. So she made the deal with them. "All right, I'll go back till I'm 67".
There was then just a lot of white light, a lot of peace, a lot of acceptance, no more resistance.
The next thing she knew, she woke up in her body. It was three days later. She had just slept for three days. A friend of hers came around. She was very stoned still, out of it.
But she was alive.
The Life After
Julie Paul is now in her 60s. She's a spiritual empowerment coach, a Tarot reader, and a YouTuber. She helps people heal from trauma. She has absolutely no fear of death. She knows what's on the other side: peace, beauty, magnificent beings, absolute pure love. A love she had never known on Earth during those early years.
She still has a strong relationship with Jesus, with Running River, with her guides and angels. She understands now what happened to her at eight years old when she left her body. Psychologists and psychiatrists call it dissociation, a defense mechanism where you remove yourself from the trauma. But from a spiritual perspective, the soul is saying "this is too much for me, I'm just going to step away from the body for a minute and then I'll come back when I'm ready".
That stepping away opened the veil. It gave her access to healing abilities, to guides, to a direct knowing that we are not just these bodies.
She has forgiven her abusers. Forgiveness was her main lesson, she learned during that three-day healing in the Angelic Realms. It's easy to forgive a slight, small problem. Much harder to forgive something like she experienced. But she has. She passed that test. Because forgiveness is one of the highest vibrational forms of love, and the soul always wants to grow in love.
She asked her guides in her 40s why her parents loved her but were absolutely useless at support. She'd had to do everything on her own, zero support. There were times she felt sorry for herself. Why was it not fair? Why did she have no family supporting her?
She's okay with that now. Completely all right with it.

What This Experience Reveals
Julie Paul's account sits at a fascinating intersection of childhood trauma, out-of-body experience, and near-death experience. What happened to her at eight years old, that first departure from her body during abuse, is something we see in many trauma survivors. The soul's protective mechanism, stepping away when the body is in unbearable pain. But what makes Julie's story unusual is that she met a guide during that first out-of-body experience, a guide who stayed with her, who taught her, who prepared her for what was coming.
By the time she took that overdose at 21, she wasn't afraid of death. She had already been to the other side. She knew what was there. That's a level of experiential knowledge most people don't have when they attempt suicide. She wasn't running from life into the unknown. She was running from life toward the known, toward the peace and love she had already tasted.
What the beings told her during those three days is one of the most detailed descriptions of pre-birth planning I've encountered in thousands of NDE accounts. The idea that souls choose difficult lives, that they contract for specific lessons, that guides help map out the key points before incarnation, this shows up again and again in near-death experiences and spiritually transformative experiences. But Julie was told something specific: what she wanted to accomplish would normally take three lifetimes. She chose to compress it into one. The beings warned her it would be too hard. She did it anyway.
This speaks to something I think about often. We are not victims of random suffering. We are eternal beings who chose to be here, who chose these specific circumstances, these specific challenges, because the soul wants to grow. And growth requires friction. It requires difficulty. You can't learn forgiveness without something to forgive. You can't develop compassion without witnessing or experiencing pain. You can't build strength without resistance.
Julie's healing abilities, which emerged after that first out-of-body experience at eight, are another common pattern. When the veil thins, when consciousness separates from the body and touches the other side, people often come back with expanded abilities. Healing, intuition, mediumship, precognition. It's as if the experience recalibrates something, opens channels that were dormant.
The beings told her she would find enormous peace in the second half of her life and help enormous amounts of people. She's doing that now. She's a healer, a teacher, a guide for others walking through their own darkness. The abuse she endured, the PTSD she survived, the suicide attempt that became a three-day healing session in the Angelic Realms, all of it was preparation. All of it was part of the plan her soul agreed to.
And here's what gives me hope: the beings told her the pain wouldn't go on forever. They promised peace. They kept that promise. She's in her 60s now, approaching that age of 67 they told her about. She has no fear. She knows where she's going. She's been there before.
We are eternal. We chose this. We are loved beyond measure. And when this classroom called Earth gets too hard, when we forget why we came, there are beings of light waiting to remind us, to heal us, to send us back with enough strength to finish what we started.
Julie Paul finished. She's helping others finish too. That's what we're here for.
