Dr. Lotte Valentin Dies in ER, Sees the Grid Connecting All Life

A former atheist physician's journey from hemorrhagic shock to the source of consciousness itself

The nurse's jaw dropped when she opened the door. Dr. Lotte Valentin was lying on the examination table in a growing pool of blood, hemorrhaging for the fifth time in three days. Within moments, the loudspeaker crackled: OB-GYN stat to the ER. A physician sprinted in, examined her, and as she hemorrhaged again, pushed her back down as the table tilted backward, her head toward the floor, her feet toward the ceiling. The room filled with hospital staff. A nurse on her left struggled to place an IV as her veins collapsed. Another nurse on her right called out her blood pressure: 50 over 15, hurry. And then Dr. Valentin, a complete atheist at the time, knew with absolute certainty that she was dying.

Dr. Lotte Valentin Dies in ER, Sees the Grid Connecting All Life

The Earthquake Birth

Dr. Lotte Valentin was born and raised in northern Europe, trained in computer science and business, and by 1992 was living far from her childhood home with a husband and two young boys, ages six and three and a half. When she went into labor with her third child, the earth itself seemed to resist.

The first contraction came during a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. She describes the moment: everything in the hospital labor ward was shaking. Tools on steel trays levitated up and down. Her labor stopped completely. She thought she was going to die. After 30 minutes, the shaking calmed, and she gave birth. Then a 7.2 aftershock hit.

As soon as they handed her the baby, she started leaning backward, screaming for her husband to take the child. The pain was overwhelming. Large blood clots poured out. Midwives and nurses massaged her abdomen, trying to expel the clots. She was put on a Pitocin drip to contract her uterus. They kept her an extra day to ensure the bleeding had stopped, then sent her home.

Ten days later, she hemorrhaged a blood clot the size of a man's large fist.

The Medical System Fails Her

Her husband came home from work and drove her to the ER. Her parents, visiting from Europe to help with the newborn and the two boys, stayed with the children. At the hospital, a doctor performed a manual examination and told her nothing much was going on. No lab work. No ultrasound. Just a manual inspection. They sent her home.

The next evening, she hemorrhaged again. Her husband called the hospital. They told her to see the doctor in the morning. The doctor did another manual inspection the next morning, no lab work, no ultrasound, and sent her on her way.

That Friday evening, she hemorrhaged a third time. Back to the ER. Another manual inspection. They said it could have been another lining and kept her for observation. Then they closed the door. No bell to ring. No way to call for help. She was alone in the ER room, bleeding.

She started bleeding again and thought, "I'm finally bleeding at the right time, I'm in the ER and I'm bleeding, now they're going to figure out something is wrong with me". She wasn't particularly worried. She'd been bleeding for three days. This was just more of the same.

Then a nurse opened the door and her jaw dropped to the floor.

The Moment of Knowing

The loudspeaker crackled: OB-GYN stat to the ER, OB-GYN stat to the ER. Dr. Valentin's first thought was relief. Finally, they were going to figure out something was actually wrong.

A middle-aged physician came running in at full speed with a younger physician in tow. They examined her. As they did, she hemorrhaged again. This was the fifth time in three days.

She tried to sit up to tell the doctor she wasn't feeling too good. The doctor, who'd obviously been around the block a couple of times, pushed her back down onto the table. They started tipping the table backward, her head toward the floor, her feet toward the ceiling. The room filled with hospital staff.

Her eyes closed. A nurse on her left tried to place an IV, but her veins were collapsing because she was going into shock. The nurse on her right yelled out, "50 over 15, hurry". Dr. Valentin thought, what's taking her so long, why can't she get that IV in?

And then she knew.

"It was shortly after that that I realized that I'm dying, so I am completely aware that I am dying", she says. This wasn't like the earthquake, when her life flashed before her eyes and she thought she might die. This was a knowing. She knew that she was dying.

She was a complete atheist at the time. Very scientific. Her worldview was materialistic. She had no beliefs in the afterlife, no beliefs in angels, no beliefs in soul survival. Nothing.

And so there she was on the table, pleading with God: "Just please let me live, I have three children under the age of six, they need a mother".

Shortly after that, she got pulled out of her body.

How Can I Be Outside My Body and Still Be Me?

She found herself hovering about three or four feet above her body. Her first thought was immediate and bewildered: "How can I be outside my body and still be me? How does this work?" She had no belief in soul survival, no framework for what was happening. But there was also a knowing that she belonged to the body down there, "just like you know you live in your house or your apartment or you know which car is yours that belongs to you, you step inside, I had just stepped outside my body".

There was something else. She had a knowing that there was no time in this state. She had access to past, present, and future all at the same time. Time wasn't relevant in this state. Time was just something she experienced on the Earth plane.

And there was peace. Unconditional love. "There wasn't a panic at all, the panic was right before I left my body, but once I was outside it was just, I was just in amazement, how can I be me and be outside my body?"

Then she started tumbling through darkness. There was no tunnel, people talk about the tunnel, for her it was just sort of tumbling through outer space, that's what it felt like.

The Mid-Station

She arrived at what she calls the mid-station. It was like getting off an elevator on the 50th floor of a 100-story skyscraper. She knew there were levels below her and levels above her.

She was in spirit form now, without her body. She heard the most beautiful music you can ever imagine, more beautiful than any music that you can make on the Earth plane.

She turned her spirit toward the right and saw a log cabin, very small, almost the size of a sauna. She opened the door and looked inside. It was empty.

She turned toward the left and saw the exact same image, another log cabin, just a mirror image of it. She opened the door. It was empty.

She wondered where the beautiful music was coming from.

Enveloped in the Light

As she stood there between the two log cabins, she became aware of a growing white light, almost like a fog of bright light rolling in behind her. As she turned her spirit body around, she became completely enveloped in this beautiful, magnificent white light that was just extending out into infinity.

This is where language starts to fail. She describes this pure white light as knowing that she was with Divine Source or God or whatever you want to call that. "That is what we come from, that light is just pure unconditional love, and that light, we carry that light inside of us, we are part of this light, and we return to this light when we go to the other side, when we leave the physical world".

Inside the magnificent white light, there was an outline of angels, and the music was coming from the angels, it was almost like an angelic choir, the closest description she has.

And she thought, as she stared at the angels, as she knew she was with Divine Source, "Why am I seeing angels? I don't believe in angels. Why do I think I'm with Divine Source or God? I don't believe in God". It was fascinating that she was having this experience, but it wasn't her belief system.

The Spirit Guides and the Grid

Then she became aware of two spirit guides. The one on the right was telepathically communicating with the one diagonally to the left in front of her, and he said, "What is she doing here? She can't be here. She has to go back".

She said, "No, no, no, wait a second, how can I still be me and be outside of my body? Why does this work?"

The spirit guide on her left said, "If I told you, you wouldn't remember, but you will remember this".

Then images appeared. It was as if she was standing on the moon, looking down onto the Earth from outer space. But around the Earth, there was something she'd never seen before.

She calls it a silvery, glittery fishnet. She grew up in northern Europe, and as a child she rode in a little boat with her grandmother as she laid fishnets in the ocean to catch fish for the family to eat. When her grandmother lifted those nets out of the ocean in the early morning sun, the water droplets would shimmer and glitter in the sunlight.

This was 1994. They didn't have Google or the internet then, and she'd never seen an image of the grid around the Earth. So to her, it looked like a silvery, glittery fishnet.

The spirit guide said, "Everything on Earth is connected to each other, but everything on Earth is connected up to this grid".

With that information, she got sent back to Earth.

The Aftermath: A New Kind of Knowing

That information has stayed with her. And something else happened. Clairvoyance and clairaudience and clairsentience just kept developing more and more and more after these experiences.

For 12 years, she kept getting information. People in the family were sick. People were going to pass away. Relatives would stop in and say they'd passed on, and she didn't even know yet. One example: her uncle passed away between her first and second near-death experience, and he came to say that he had passed on to the other side. She expected her mother to call from Sweden to let her know her brother had died. But her mother didn't call the next day. Or the next. Dr. Valentin waited, thinking maybe she'd gotten the wrong message.

Finally, on the third day, her mom called and said, "I have something sad to share with you," and Dr. Valentin said, "Yes, I know, your brother passed away two or three days ago." Her mother said, "How did you know?" And she said, "He was here".

That whole development began right away after her first near-death experience.

The Unexpected Path to Medicine

After 12 years of these clairvoyant experiences, she got a message from the spirit world. She'd decided to go back to work. Her kids were teenagers now. She was looking for a degree online and found a medical school for naturopathic medicine that combines herbal medicine and Chinese medicine with pharmaceutical and Western medicine.

She realized it was a medical school. She said, "There's no way, I can't go to medical school, I'm in my 40s, I can't do this". She closed the computer and started walking toward the kitchen.

The spirit world dropped in on her and said, "You have to become a doctor, you are to combine East and West, you have to bring messages and healing to the people".

She was enrolled in her prerequisite classes literally within a week or two. She had to start from the beginning with high school biology because she was a computer science and business major as an undergraduate. She went to medical school when she was 54 and graduated in 2016.

She trusted those messages because for 12 years, they'd been right.

The Work Now

Today, Dr. Lotte Valentin works as a physician, a medical intuitive, and a psychic medium. She's written a book to teach people how to develop their own clairvoyant and clairaudience abilities, because "we are all clairvoyant, we're all clairaudient, we can all see and hear the spirit world if we just learn how to connect".

The book has all her near-death experiences in it, but it also teaches you how to connect with yourself so that you can open up and fulfill your own goals in this life and find a path to doing what you incarnated to do in this life. She helps other people find a path to healing their own life physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

She's told her story in multiple interviews over the years, including detailed accounts on Shaman Oaks, Passion Harvest Podcast, the About Freedom Show, and NDE Accounts, among others. Each time, she returns to the same core truths: the peace, the light, the knowing that we are more than our bodies, and the grid connecting all life.

What This Tells Us

Dr. Valentin's account is striking for several reasons, and they're worth sitting with for a moment.

First, there's the clarity of her knowing. She wasn't guessing or interpreting. She knew she was dying. She knew she belonged to the body below her. She knew there was no time. She knew she was with Divine Source. This isn't the language of metaphor or approximation. It's the language of direct perception, and it appears again and again in NDE accounts. People don't say "I thought" or "it seemed like." They say "I knew."

Second, there's the problem of the atheist who meets God. Dr. Valentin had no framework for what happened to her. She didn't believe in angels, didn't believe in the afterlife, didn't believe in soul survival. And yet there she was, hovering above her body, enveloped in a light she recognized as Divine Source, listening to angelic music, and asking herself, "Why am I seeing angels? I don't believe in angels." This is one of the most common features of NDEs: the experience contradicts the experiencer's prior beliefs, and the experience wins. The beliefs change. The knowing remains.

Third, there's the grid. She saw the Earth from space, surrounded by a silvery, glittery fishnet connecting everything on the planet to everything else and to the grid itself. This was 1994. She'd never seen an image of the electromagnetic grid or the global consciousness network that researchers would later map. She had no conceptual vocabulary for what she was seeing, so she reached for the closest thing from her childhood: her grandmother's fishnets shimmering in the morning sun. And the spirit guide told her: everything on Earth is connected to each other, and everything on Earth is connected up to this grid.

This is the kind of information that shows up in NDE after NDE, described in different ways by people from different cultures and backgrounds, but pointing to the same underlying reality. We are not separate. We are not isolated. We are nodes in a vast, living network of consciousness, and that network extends far beyond the physical plane.

Fourth, there's the aftermath. The clairvoyance, the clairaudience, the clairsentience. The visits from deceased relatives. The messages from the spirit world. The sudden, undeniable knowing that she had to go to medical school at 54, after 12 years of trusting these messages and finding them reliable. This is also common. NDEs don't just change beliefs. They change capacities. They open channels. They make the invisible visible and the inaudible audible. Dr. Valentin didn't seek this. It found her. And once it did, she had a choice: ignore it or follow it. She followed it, and it led her to a life of service that combines Western medicine, Eastern medicine, and direct spiritual perception.

What her experience suggests, and what thousands of other NDEs confirm, is that consciousness is not produced by the brain. It's not an emergent property of neural complexity. It's primary. It's foundational. It's what we are. The body is the vehicle, the classroom, the temporary home. But we are not the body. We are the light inside the body, and we carry that light with us when we leave.

Dr. Valentin was told she couldn't be there, she had to go back. She wasn't done. None of us are done until we're done. And when we are, we return to the light we came from, the light we've always been part of, the light that is pure unconditional love. That's not theology. That's testimony. And it's coming from people who've been there and come back to tell us.

The grid is real. The connection is real. The light is real. And we're all going home.
